A huge, placid tabby cat who we believe used to belong as a kitten to a family a few houses away from where we were living, but was evicted when he grew up. A poor starving boy (though this was difficult to tell given his massive build), he was accepted into the household with little trauma. He died of massive kidney failure which occurred suddenly, and quietly while we were preoccupied by the arrival of Smoke as a kitten.
